2nd pick: #7 (Sea Trial) (6-1) - Phipps home-bred has raced evenly in all four starts on the dirt and will be trying the grass for the first time. Filly by "Unbridled's Song" is working nicely, is bred for the turf, and J.J.Castellano is aboard for the first time.
3rd pick: #1a (Means Well) (5-2) - She's part of an Alan Goldberg trained entry and the duo has separate riders listed. Both are beautifully-bred, and last out this daughter of "Smart Strike" finished second in a large field (12) at Pimlico on May 23. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #2 (Jolene) (5-1) - Daughter of "Malibu Moon" cost $265,000 as a yearling back in the fall of 2012, and has been brought along slowly by the patient Graham Motion. Filly rallied to finish second when debuting in a turf sprint at Pimlico on May 23 and has worked her twice at Fair Hill since. Stretches out today, and I think she'll be involved from gate-to-wire.
