Top pick: #3 (AESTHETIQUE) (2-1) - The morning line favorite, she raced in heavy traffic sprinting here at this level on June 1st and made up some ground when clear. It was her first race since an impressive maiden win on this course last Oct., and she's brought back quickly and stretches out in distance. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #9 (Chow Fun) (5-1) - Filly made her seasonal debut in the same June 1st contest as "Aesthetique" and raced both wide and evenly while only a length back of that rival on the wire. She's worked since, stretches out, and John Velazquez stays aboard.
3rd pick: #7 (Nonnie Connie) (3-1) - The fields lone multiple winner, speed/stalker has yet to win on the turf, but enters off a third-place finish at this level on June 12th. She's been much improved since coming off a 3 1/2 month layoff on May 8th and trainer Gary Contessa has been on a three-week hot streak.
4th pick: #1 (As Well) (4-1) - No-speed type raced evenly while very wide when checking in 7th of 12, beaten 4 1/2 lengths racing here at this level and distance on May 18. It was her first since Dec. 4 and she probably needed the start. Trainer Mark Hennig has worked her three times since and J.J. Castellano is back on the re-ride. The faster the pace, the better her prospects.
