Top pick: #1 (ANNIE WALKER) (4-1) - Schwartz home-bred has shown some early speed facing tougher and will be taking the big drop into maiden claimers for the first time. Daughter of "War Front" has the rail and a recent sharp 5-furlong breeze indicates her readiness.
2nd pick: #2 (Brandini) (8-5) - The probable favorite, she takes the same drop as "Annie" and last out finished fourth when facing tougher at this distance on May 24th. It was her first in a half-year and she probably need the race. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Contender's Queen) (5-1) - Home-bred filly has been freshened up since early April where she finished a distant fourth when facing better. She has a new trainer (Ralph D'Alessandro), drips back down, and draws a nice outside post.
4th pick: #6 (Music Maid) (8-1) - Minor player has some speed and finished a distant second here at this tag and trip on May 24th. That was a much weaker field than this, race was run in slow time, and a minor award is her ceiling.
