Top pick: #3 (CAYMAN SMILE) (2-1) - Owned and trained by Mike Trombetta, she's been competitive in both appearances, and they came 18 months apart. Last out here on June 2 she rated, bid to a short lead, and fought it out gamely to finish second, beaten just under a length. Barn brings her back in two weeks, and it's a great sign that she's making back-to-back starts for the first time.
2nd pick: #4 (Hidalgo Legacy) (4-1) - Speedy daughter of "Hook and Ladder" has been freshened up since a sub-par effort on March 3 at Aqu. 3yo had been competitive in four straight prior to that, and is a win threat with her best.
3rd pick: #7 (Beautiful Me) (3-1) - Home-bred exits the same June 2 race as "Smile," and she ran an even fourth in an encouraging debut. She draws outside of the speed types and that should lead to a comfortable trip. Normal second out improvement makes her a win candidate.
4th pick: #1 (Sharpandwitty) (8-1) - Has the rail, some early speed, and runs second back off a seven week break. 4yo had finished second in three straight before the short vacation, and she has a fine half-mile breeze here six days ago.
