Top pick: #3 (BI LIGHT OF DAY) (5-2) - Filly has raced herself back into shape following several layoffs, and on April 14 at Aqueduct, she just missed facing tougher. Home-bred ran evenly here in her latest and will be dropping into a claimer for the first time.
nd pick: #2 (Under Scrutiny) (8-1) - Nicely bred filly has been freshened up since April 10 when she tired while widest racing on the Aqu. dirt going a mile. Her prior three turf attempts are encouraging, and Broman home-bred is a threat at a square price.
rd pick: #9 (Rockaway) (8-1) - Her debut sprinting on the dirt here May 21 was essentially a "throw-out" as she was never involved after slamming into the gate at the break. Trainer Rudy Rodriguez brings her back quickly, adds blinkers, switches her to the grass, and stretches her out in distance. "Live" longshot.
th pick: #1 (Legally Bay) (20-1) - Home bred filly has some early speed, draws the rail, and is dropping back down in class. 4yo can lead them a long ways at a very big price.
th pick: #5 (Samuels Blond Lady) (3-1) - Mare rallied to finish third here in an "off the turf" contest on May 9. It was her first in almost a year and she drops in class, goes dirt to grass, and stretches out in distance. It's of note that jockey Pedro Rodriguez once again comes in from Finger Lakes for the ride.
