Top pick: #6 (CYBERTRON) - He was involved a pace-duel last out and lost the battle turning for home and tired to finish 3rd. Effort was fine and was his first at this $20K tag. Flying Zee home-bred can take this with just a bit of improvement.
2nd pick: #7 (River Ron) - Nice effort last out in his 2nd start saw him make a strong bid after racing close up and after fighting to a short lead he was caught in the last stride to miss by a neck. Trainer Bob Barbara brings him back in two weeks and replaces 7lb apprentice with John Velazquez.
3rd pick: #1 (Officer's Shadow) - Race is compolicated a bit by trainer Dom Galluscio who has three horses entered. Two are coupled, this runner with #1a Pure Nature and with jockey J.J.Castellano listed on both, only one will go. Heavily backed when debuting at Aqueduct on April 12th, he did not break cleanly and raced evenly to finish 4th. Barn is excellent 2nd time out (33%) and this gelding is a win candidate if he runs.
