Top pick: #6 (SLIVER AND ONIONS) (2-1) - Nice debut saw him rally into a fast pace to finish second to a "much the best" winner who came right back to take another. Trainer Mike Hushion is having a great meet and wins at a 38% clip second time out. He stretches this grey colt out in distance and he's the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Lochte) (4-1) - Darley runner is part of a Kiaran Mclaughlin trained entry with #1a "Regiment" and he has separate riders listed on both. Son of "Medglia d'Oro" raced very wide from a tough outside post last out and was 6 back of "Onions" at the finish. He draws a better slot and the extra distance is in his favor.
3rd pick: #5 (Touchofstarquality) (3-1) - Debuting son of "Mineshaft" cost $350K and has some fine works on his morning tab. Capable barn (Michelle Nevin) and it's encouraging to see J.J. Castellano take the mount.
4th pick: #4 (Easement) (6-1) - Home-bred by "War Front" rallied to finish third here when debuting on June 15th going 6 furlongs. Stretches-out, has worked fast since, and is bred to like the additional yardage.
