Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (SHIRAZ) (5-2) - He ships back from Gulfstream Park where he finished a close up third going a mile in a $100K stakes April 1. Three-year-old has worked since returning and is dropping in class, shortening up in distance, and is back in with fellow New York breds.
2nd pick: #2 (Fear) (10-1) - Price play is another shipping up from Florida. Veteran raced evenly in both turf sprints at Gulfstream and finished close up in each. Freshened up since Feb. 12, longshot can factor at a big price.
3rd pick: #7 (Freud's Friend) (8-1) - Trainer Charlie Baker was very hot near the end of the just completed one month meet on Aqueduct's main track. This speed/stalker has been on the sidelines since late November and has been competitive in all three previous grass races. Many of his recent drills are well above average and this home bred is dangerous at a square price if ready.
4th pick: #8 (New York's Finest) (3-1) - Very lightly-raced son of 'City Zip' has been idle since a sharp maiden win when sprinting on the Saratoga turf Sept. 4. Trainer Linda Rice is having a great year and she wins at a solid 25% rate of of long layoffs. Another that's dangerous if ready.
