Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (SET THE TRAPPE) (7-2) - I believe that this is the first New York starter for the high-percentage barn of Bob Diodoro. He finished second in the recently completed meet at Oaklawn Park and was the runaway winner in the standings at Turf Paradise. This speed/stalker races first off a claim (24%) and this 4-year-old has finished second in two of his last three at Oaklawn. Working fast and he gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Samurai Warrior) (8-1) - Longshot broke his maiden going 6.5 furlongs at Aqueduct April 5, then finished a close up fourth at this distance eleven days later for a $20K tag. Has the rail, drops a bit, and he's in the Jacobson barn.
3rd pick: #8 (Saratoga Mischief) (3-1) - The possible favorite, speedy 4-year-old is racing third back from a nine month layoff and trainer Todd Pletcher drops him into a claimer for the first time. Speed/stalker is a win candidate at a short price.
4th pick: #7 (Open Bar) (5-2) - Philly Park shipper broke his maiden there going six furlongs for a $25K tag March 21. By far a career best, this $375K purchase is lightly raced and has room for upside.
