Top pick: #5 (IRISH JADE) (4-1) - Lightly-raced ridgling of "Freud" raced evenly while wide here at this level and distance on June 1st in his first since Sept. 30. He went 3-0-2-1 last year and was in against some tough opposition. It's nice to see trainer J.P. Terranova Jr. bring him back quickly for this and this 3-year-old should be much sharper in his second off the eight month layoff.
nd pick: #9 (Mike and Rob) (7-2) - Goes third off a 9 1/2 month break and last out rallied to finish third here on May 18th. Gelding by "Bob and John" likes this course (4-0-2-2) and is a win candidate in this spot.
rd pick: #8 (Face the Race) (3-1) - Grey gelding finished 4th of 12, besten just under three lengths when racing here at this level going 7 furlongs on May 15th. He's clearly improved since switching to the grass and must be left in the mix.
th pick: #4 (Awesome Heart) (12-1) - Colt ships in from Monmouth where he finished an even fourth when sprinting on the dirt against a talented field on June 1st. In a good barn (Allen Iwninski) and this 4-year-old by "Mutakddim" is bred to handle the grass.
th pick: #1 (Professor Chaos) (15-1) - Longshot finished a fine fourth here at this level and distance on June 1st in his second off a four month break. Has the rail and could grab a share at a big price.
