Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (NEWSPAPEROFRECORD) (5-2) - This Irish-bred is one of three runners entered by Chad Brown, and they each race as separate betting interests. She won the Eclipse Award as the 2yo filly turf champ back in 2018 and was a very sharp winner here going seven furlongs June 6 in a G3 stakes going seven furlongs. It was a career-best overall and came fresh off 11 months spent on the sidelines. Back in top form, I like her chances.
2nd pick: #6 (Uni) (8-5) - The morning line favorite is another of the Chad Brown-trained trio. Strong finisher defeated males in the Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) at this distance Nov. 2 at Santa Anita. Unraced since, she's won off of layoffs in the past, is training steadily locally, and is an obvious win candidate at a short price.
3rd pick: #2 (Got Stormy) (5-1) - She finished a solid 2nd to 'Uni' at Santa Anita Nov. 2 and followed that up with a G1 win at Del Mar Dec. 1. Subpar in three starts since coming off a two-month rest Feb. 8, this is her favorite distance, and she's dangerous with her best.
4th pick: #1 (Beau Recall) (10-1) - No speed type had no chance at Churchill Downs in a G3 May 30 following a troubled break. She finished 2nd in this race a year ago, but will need some pace help for anything more than a minor award.
