2nd pick: #3 (Vino Rosso) (7-2) - From the barn of Todd Pletcher, this son of 'Curlin' became a G1 winner when he won the Santa Anita Gold Cup at this distance May 27. Given just under a 10-week freshening after that victory, he checked in a wide and pace-pressing 3rd in Saratoga's Whitney Handicap (G1) Aug. 3. Working fast, he brings speed to this small group, and that makes him dangerous.
