He's been competitive in twelve straight starts, six on the turf and six on synthetic surfaces. Stalker won a Group 3 on the Longchamp grass at just under this 2 mile distance April 28 and gets top billing.
2nd pick: #6 (Nessy) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, long-winded veteran ships from Santa Anita where he won Santa Anita's 14 furlong San Juan Capistrano (G3) April 22. Sharp in five of his last six, gelding is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Canessar) (6-1) - French bred has been in the U.S. since last fall and has run well in all three starts. Grey gelding has gone 13-6-1-2 on the grass and is a specialist at long distances. In a good barn (Arnaud Delacour) and 5-year-old must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #10 (Rocketry) (8-1) - I always thought this horse would develop into a solid stakes performer and he seems headed in the right direction. He was an easy winner here going 10 furlongs facing weaker April 27 and son of 'Hard Spun' earned a career best figure. Interestingly, he's the only horse entered with a win on the Belmont turf and he's done it twice.
