Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (DEEP CONSIDERATION) (4-1) - Colt has been competitive in all nine starts on the grass and is dropping back down in class for this attempt. Three-year-old finished third at Saratoga for a $40K tag Aug 10 and was claimed that afternoon by trainer John Toscano Jr. Raised up to a $75K claimer Aug 30, he rallied to finish fourth at the Spa in his first off the barn change. Barn drops him down to a $50K tag and he looks set for a big effort.
nd pick: #9 (Britannia's Moat) (6-1) - Speedster was helped by the late scratches by a pair of runners who may have had designs on getting to the front. This gelding set the pace in the same last race as 'Deep Consideration' and tired late to check in only a length back of that rival. Trainer Dave Donk drops him to a new low and John Velazquez is aboard for the first time. Win candidate.
rd pick: #7 (Invisible Crown) (4-1) - Lightly-raced colt rallied while wide to finish second at Saratoga racing at this level and distance Aug 31. It was his first start in nine months and first on the grass. Stretch threat.
th pick: #4 (Fuhrious Warrior) (5-1) - Gelding is training well for his first since Aug 9. Speed/stalker has been competitive facing tougher in the past and he worked a bullet half-mile at Saratoga Sept. 9. Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #2 (Bold Runner) (8-1) - Long time maiden has finished second in two of his last three and did so at this level going 5.5-furlongs at Saratoga Aug 20. Speedy sort should be in this most of the way, but needs to do better during the stretch run.
