Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (SUMMER CANDY) (4-1) - Colt was well backed when debuting here going 8.5 furlongs at this level Oct. 10th. However, he had all sorts of problems at the break which left him almost 15 lengths behind in a large field (12). To his credit, he made up good ground during the stretch run. Trainer Chris Clement worked him on the 20th and is adding Lasix (a 26% winning angle).
nd pick: #3 (The Undersheriff) (6-1) - Speedy sort set the pace and weakened to finish 3rd in the same Oct. 10th race that 'Summer Candy' exits. Improving sort has worked since and gets the addition of blinkers (a 27% winning move by trainer Jeremiah Englehart). A major threat to take this group from start-to-finish.
rd pick: #9 (There Goes Ben) (10-1) - Colt is improving, and last out raced evenly while finishing 4th of 12, beaten six lengths racing here at this level and distance Sept. 19th. He's worked four times since and has a shot at a square price.
th pick: #12 (Extinct Charm) (7-2) - He enters off a career best 'figure' when finishing 2nd here at this level Oct. 10th. It was his first ever on the turf, and he passed a weakening 'Undersheriff' in the final stages to gain the place spot. Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #11 (Fakeittilumakeit) (30-1) - Home bred raced extremely wide when finishing eight lengths behind 'There Goes Ben' Sept. 19th. Gelding draws another tough post, but may grab a minor award at very long odds if able to avoid another poor trip.
