Top pick: #11 (ALABASTER CITY) (2-1) - The probable favorite, he finished a pace-setting second here at this level and distance when debuting in an off the turf contest on May 22nd. He earned a solid figure that afternoon and with this race being switched to the main-track, he's the horse to beat.
nd pick: #1 (Blue Chips Only) (5-1) - Home-bred was reported to have some talent before debuting in late August at Saratoga. He was very "keyed up" before the start and was also hesitant to enter the gate. Gelding by "Bluegrass Cat" raced evenly at odds of 5-2 and has been on the sidelines since. Working fine and he has a new trainer (Jeremiah Englehart 27% with new arrivals).
rd pick: #9 (Readyheartandsoul) (12-1) - Lightly-raced 3-year-old has raced evenly while wide in both starts and is racing today off a 7-week freshening. Working well for his return and trainer Tom Albertrani adds blinkers.
th pick: #3 (Bob and Jim) (10-1) - Long time maiden goes turf-to-dirt after checking in 5th of 10, beaten 4 1/2 lengths here at this level May 29th. It was his first since April 3rd and may grab a share at a square price in this spot.
th pick: #5 (Canarsie Kid) (8-1) - He's from the same barb as "Blue Chips Only" and the pair race uncoupled. Colt has some early speed and has and a fine recent half-mile breeze. Don't just dismiss.
