Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (HURRICANE BREEZE) (4-1) - The sophomore ships from Gulfstream where she missed by a 'nose' facing similar types going 8.5 furlongs May 29. It was her first since breaking her maiden there at this mile distance Jan. 3 and first off a Mike Maker claim for $50K. I give her a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Bean Counter) (2-1) - The morning line and probable favorite, she also ships from Gulfstream where she's finished 2nd in two straight at this distance. Speed/stalker missed by a 1/2-length in both, and this 4yo from the Pletcher barn is an obvious win candidate at a short price.
3rd pick: #6 (Corey Scores) (5-1) - The field's lone New York-bred broke her maiden here going seven furlongs on the grass by five lengths for a $40K tag facing fellow state-breds on Oct. 20, In her follow up Nov. 21, she missed by a 1/2-length at this level facing 'open' company and is a late threat today if ready.
4th pick: #8 (Gloriously) (10-1) - Stronach home-bred broke her maiden for a $50K tag at this distance May 22 at Gulfstream in a contest that was taken 'off the turf.' Competitive in her only previous grass attempt, she has early speed and may get a share at a square price.
