Bet down to 7-5 favoritism sprinting on the turf at this level, she tired late after dueling for the lead through very fast fractions. Working above average at Keeneland for Wesley Ward, he wins at an 18% rate second time out and at a 21% clip off of long layoffs over the past 17 months.
2nd pick: #7 (Amazing Ride) (8-1) - A $525,000 filly by 'Candy Ride,' she showed sharp early speed in both dirt sprints during the fall. The 3yo tired late in both and is switching to the grass in her return. She worked a bullet half-mile here May 25 and is a longshot possibility.
3rd pick: #8 (Restraint of Trade) (5-2) - A debuting filly from the barn of Chad Brown, daughter of 'City Zip' sold for $200K as a yearling back in Oct. of 2018. She's been working both steadily and frequently at the Palm Meadows Center, and Brown, 22% first out in 2019-20 has Irad Ortiz Board. When teamed up over the past 17 months they've won with 62 of 242 (26%).
4th pick: #12 (Osage Treaty) (9-2) - A $170K purchase, she makes her debt off of a series of fast works at the Fair Hill Center for Arnaud Delacour and it's noted that Javier Castellano takes the mount.
5th pick: #4 (Coin the Phrase) (5-1) - She has early speed and a recency edge on most. Competitive in four straight grass sprints, she must be left in the mix.
