Top pick: #2 (BATTLE RED) (2-1) - The "morning line" favorite, son of "Kitten's Joy" has fine early speed and has held to finish second in two of his three starts. The latest came on the grass at the "Spa," and this colt meets a weak looking field on paper. The horse to beat.

2nd pick: #7 (Delta Outlaw) (3-1) - Son of "Tiznow" raced evenly while finishing third when debuting on the Monmouth turf going a mile on Sept. 14. Trainer George Weaver brings him back in two weeks, cuts him back in distance, and adds blinkers. Dangerous rival.

3rd pick: #5 (Tower East) (10-1) - Colt tired badly at Saratoga when going two-turns at Saratoga Aug. 16. It was his first since coming north from Calder and first for trainer Rudy Rodriguez. He's worked him three times since and shortens him up in distance for this attempt.

4th pick: #8 (A Lot) (5-1) - Colt by leading sire "Tapit" raced evenly after a poor break when debuting on the Saratoga main track Aug. 30. He had some fine works on view and probably has much more talent than shown that afternoon. Trainer Bill Mott switches him to the grass and cuts him back a furlong.
