Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (SHOOT THE GAP) (5-2) - Lightly-raced 3-year-old finished second here at this trip when facing slightly tougher June 24. In his follow up at Saratoga July 24, he tired while chasing the pace from between horses on a sloppy track July 24. Freshened up since, he gets a slight edge in a competitive contest.
2nd pick: #5 (Shamrocked) (7-2) - Gelding ships up from Delaware Park where he finished third Aug. 24 going six furlongs for a $30,000 price tag. He had to rush up after hitting the gate at the break so the overall effort was a positive one. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Fast Lane Front Man) (9-2) - $185,000 purchase is dropping well down in value for his first since tiring while wide facing tougher Aug. 7 at Saratoga. He worked fast here Sept. 8, presumably with the blinkers that trainer Tony Dutrow is adding for this attempt.
4th pick: #9 (Archrival) (8-1) - He's racing first off a Dave Jacobson claim (a 20% winning angle). Well bred colt has been lightly-raced and had a positive effort at this tag the day he was claimed at Saratoga.
