Top pick: #4 (BAKE SHOP) (4-1) - Gelding ships back from Delaware where his trainer Juan Vazquez is based. Four-year-old was probably best last out at Saratoga when he missed by a neck when racing at this level going a mile on Aug. 4. He "hit the gate" at the start and was off slowly that day and rallied while widest. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Quiet Power) (10-1) - Price play is one of two entered by trainer Rudy Rodriguez and the pair race uncoupled. He exits the same Aug. 4 race as "Bake" annd was beaten just under two lengths. He likes this surface (11-2-1-2), and has gone 7-2-1-2 at this distance.
3rd pick: #7 (Zivo) (2-1) - The possible favorite, he rallied to finish third last out at Saratoga and was a neck back of "Bake" and 1 1/2 clear of "Power." Solid effort came off an 11 1/2 month layoff and he broke his maiden here at this trip in June of 2012.
4th pick: #2 (Cousin Michael) (6-1) - He's been racing evenly of late and has finished within range in each. He has enough tactical speed to stay close and can factor with just a bit of improvement.
