Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (JAMFLOWMAN) (3-1) - Colt tired while wide when debuting against tougher July 18 at Saratoga. Well backed that day (3-1), he's had almost 10 weeks to grow and mature, drops into a claimer, and I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Victory Boulevard) (2-1) - One of two making their debuts, this $80K purchase enters off a sharp half-mile breeze in :46.80 Sept. 22. He runs for $30K first out, has the rail, and is from a capable barn Dermot Magner.
3rd pick: #4 (Hewhomustnotbnamed) (5-1) - The other first-time-starter, he enters off a quick half-mile work in :48 flat from the gate Oct. 20, 3rd best of 90 at the distance that morning.
4th pick: #3 (Mr Shortandsimple) (4-1) - A son of 'Pioneer of the Nile', colt raced close up before weakening to lose by 15 lengths debuting here facing tougher going 8.5 furlongs on the grass Sept. 21. Trainer Rudy Rodriguez moves him to the dirt, shortens him up, and drops him into a claimer. Look for a much better effort from this runner.
