Top pick: #1 (BEAUTY SURPRISE) (5-2) - She just missed here at this level and distance Sept. 11. It was a career best overall it was her first since July 23rd, and it's nice to see trainer Chris Clement bring her back quickly for this. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #8 (Angel Choir) (3-1) - The main speed, she's dropping back down after a pair of solid efforts at Saratoga facing tougher. She has a big tactical advantage in this rather paceless race on paper, and I almost made her the top choice.
3rd pick: #4 (Rachel's Temper) (5-1) - No-speed type has been freshened up since finishing second at Saratoga on Aug. 3 racing at this level and trip. It was a career best effort and was her first in a claimer. Stretch threat.
4th pick: #6 (Pure of Spirit) (5-1) - She made up some ground after a poor start when debuting at Saratoga facing special weights on Aug. 9. Grey filly is nearing her fifth birthday and with only one start she obviously has some issues. Drops and trainer Barclay Tagg wins at a 20% rate second time out.
