Top pick: #6 (STAR MAGNOLIA) (2-1) - Lightly-raced filly is one of two entered by trainer Michelle Nevin and the pair race uncoupled. Speedy sort is taking a big drop in her first since May 21st and she had a sharp work here on Sept. 15 that should have her all set. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Mononoke) (4-1) - Consistent sort has gone 10-1-2-4 at Belmont and stalker has Castellano aboard for the first time. Filly draws a nice outside post at this trip and is a stretch threat.
3rd pick: #5 (Charming Eyes) (9-2) - She exits a rather troubled trip at Saratoga Aug. 20. Racing off a 7-week freshening, she was nervous in the gate and raced evenly while very wide that afternoon. Trainer Rudy Rodriguez is having a great meet and this 3-year-old has worked four times since that effort at the Spa.
4th pick: #1 (Shesgotthemoves) (3-1) - The second of the Nevin pair, lightly-raced filly raced evenly following a slow start on a sloppy track when facing tougher at Saratoga Aug. 21. Claimed that day by Nevin for $25K she's worked her twice since and drops her in class. New barn wins at a solid 26% rate off the claim and this Pa.-bred must be left in the mix.
