Top pick: #6 (PECORINO) (9-5) - Lightly raced gelding ships back from Monmouth where he missed by a "nose" racing at this level going six-furlongs on May 26. It was his first start since last August at Saratoga, and this $130K 2yo purchase stretches out a furlong and draws a nice outside post. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Candir) (4-1) - Son of "Candy Ride" cost $360K as a yearling and raced evenly following a slow start and a wide trip when debuting at Santa Anita on May 4. Working fast for his return, and colt is a win candidate in this spot.
3rd pick: #2 (Flat Jack) (8-1) - Since a poor debut last July at Saratoga, this colt has gone 4-0-2-2. One run type has run well here in the past and has blinkers added for this attempt. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Indian Rain Dance) (6-1) - Speedy gelding moves up in class after setting a quick pace and holding "gamely" to finish second when debuting here for a $50K tag on May 30. His speed makes him dangerous.
