Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (LADY OF MIRACLES) (5-2) - Speedy filly set a quick and pressured pace before tiring here June 23 going 7 furlongs facing tougher. It was her first start since Dec. 1 and she most likely needed the effort for conditioning purposes. Trainer Mike Miceli shortens her up a furlong, drops her into a claimer, and home bred has the rail. Lots of things to like.
2nd pick: #8 (J C S Star) (3-1) - She just missed (a 1/2 length) racing here at this level and distance May 28 in her second start back from just under a 5 month layoff. However, in her follow up June 13 under similar conditions she tired while extremely wide as the 2-1 favorite. Home bred daughter of 'Freud' retains Irad Ortiz Jr and is an obvious contender.
3rd pick: #7 (Catania Rose) (10-1) - Long time maiden finished a distant second here at this tag and trip June 28 in a contest that was taken 'off the turf.' Four-year-old had raced evenly in her grass debut May 28 and is capable of getting a share at a big price.
4th pick: #9 (Third Card Down) (6-1) - Filly raced evenly when debuting here in a dirt sprint against tougher June 14. The under-rated Charlie Baker switches her to the turf, drops her into a claimer, and is adding both blinkers and Lasix.
