Top pick: #7 (GREEN MONSTER) - Calder shipper rallied to just miss at this level going 5 furlongs June 17th in his first back off a 4 month layoff. His entire career has been spent in Florida, so this will be his first ever facing fellow New York-breds. In a great barn (Marty Wolfson) and he should get a fast pace to rally into if all go that are entered. Has a shot at pulling off the upset.
2nd pick: #2 (Nutmegcuveeroyale) - The probable heavy favorite hails from the "hot" barn of Linda Rice and he's one of a pair entered by the trainer and they will race uncoupled. He was an impressive front-end maiden winner here at this trip April 30th and has been freshened-up since. Working fast and a major threat again today.
3rd pick: #3 (Power Blast) - The second of the Rice pair is a very lightly raced 4-year-old gelding who ran second at this level on the grass two back, then chased and tired in a contest that was "switched" to the main track June 18th. Likes the infield and is a win candidate.
