(# 3) Scary Bob - Interesting starter allowance which drew a odd group of horses. There are sprinters, distance runners and two coming off of layoffs. Scary Bob was a minor stakes winner last season and is trained by top Finger Lakes conditioner Chris Englehart. Gelding last was seen in a strangely run affair which saw the opening quarter mile run in :23.8 in a stakes quality field. "Bob" was rated in that affair but I think they'll go for the lead today. Englehart's numbers in the relevant catagories are strong (almost 30%), second off the layoff.

(# 4) Papua - Hard knocking veteran is still plenty tough every time he runs. Returns to sprint off of three good two turn tries. Last time he sprinted he was beaten only a length by Tom Bush's Gold and Roses, beating our top pick by a length. That day "Bob" had a very wide trip and draws inside of Papua today.

(# 2) Running Dog - Bred and owned by Racing Hall of Famer, John Nerud. Has shown very good ability in his career without breaking through to the next level. Working sharply for Jimmy Jerkens and think he'll run well in this race.
