(# 6) Pure Devil - Richard Dutrow trainee drops and shortens up for this. Well backed in both starts, he ran well in debut against the highly-regarded "Etched." Trainer does well with this dropping type.

(# 4) Hackensack - Ran well for this tag in Saratoga debut. Away two months, he had a wide post in Laurel return and may have needed the effort. Drops back in for debut price for George Weaver

(# 8) Bomber D Back - Poor start and an ensuing wide journey gave him no shot in last. Race before was a good try, his first in blinkers. Johnny V. keeps the faith.
