(# 7) Silvercup Baby - Appeared to regress a bit while stretching out to a mile off of a career best effort. Sat a perfect stalking trip but failed to respond when called upon to improve her position in the stretch. Has room to progress off her initial effort over a distance of ground. This horse was taken back to rate on Jan. 15th, a race she should have been on the engine. Simply could not quicken in the stretch and I remember thinking that she would be better sprinting, or around one turn. Should be with the pace from the outset in this weak field.

(# 2) Go Mercedes - The only other horse that has started that I like is this one. Exits a fast race and steps up a bit. Can improve in second start off the layoff and comes back in less than two weeks.

(# 8) Go for Glory - Good first-out sire and trainer. Hails from a winning family and was a $75,000 purchase. Hasn't shown much speed in her works for crafty Bruce Levine. Her 18-year-old dam has not produced anything of note in recent years.

(# 9) Texas Starlet - Actually have a negative opinion of this one. Gained ground along the rail while the top two went around horses. Finished evenly while entry mate closed from far back to win.
