(# 1) BIG JEROME - Returned from a prolonged layoff and ran a creditable fifth at Gulfstream. He dueled for the lead virtually the entire way, and understandably gave way past mid-stretch. He should have derived beneficial stamina from that effort, and looks primed for a strong showing in his second start off the shelf. He demonstrated a spotty workout regimen prior to his comeback effort sporting mediocre works, but worked a good half-mile five days ago, Expect hustling tactics breaking from the rail with C.C. Lopez.

(# 8) SPECCHIO - I am expecting him to regress a little off the hard effort on Feb. 23. He was dueled into defeat in his first start against winners, and gave-way badly, late. Takes a realistic class drop, but he was all out to beat maidens on Jan. 14, and an outside post for him is no bargain.
