(# 5) MAASTRICT - Ran very well off the layoff, chasing home a perfect trip winner who was very impressive. Making his inner track debut in a sprint on March 3, he made a solid move into a fast pace that day and sustained that bid as the winner clocked the fifth furlong in 12.18 seconds. Even though he was coming off the shelf, he still held well with the final furlong of the race being completed in 12.59. He is coming back on relatively short rest for him, and steps up in class while stretching out. All of which are big plusses.

(# 8) MISTER ZEE - An obvious contender, may be a little over-the-top after a series of strong races against this level of competition. A horse with fine tactical speed, draws an outside post, and he will have to be at his best with a jockey who is as unpredictable as the weather at times.

(# 3) SAHM LAHM - Takes a realistic class drop and gets Dominguez. He has shown speed on occasion and may be ready for an improved effort in his third start off of the layoff. Clearly he is at his best when able to settle and make one run.
