Top pick: #10 (HARPOON) (5-1) - With a stable full of promising 3yos in Florida trainer Todd Pletcher ships this $500K son of "Tapit" up from Tampa Bay where he missed by a "nose" to stablemate "Vinceremos" in the (G3) "Sam F. Davis" stakes. Grey colt was working fast at Palm Meadows before heading north and the only negative is this outside post.
nd pick: #4 (Uncle Sigh) (3-1) - Speedy New York-bred finished a "game" 2nd here at this distance last out to today's rival "Samraat" and has been working very fast since. Son of "Indian Charlie" should be involved from start-to-finish.
rd pick: #1a (Samraat) (5-2) - Undefeated (4 for 4) colt won the G3 "Withers" last out and was a length better than "Uncle Sigh" that afternoon. It was the first time he rated a bit and home-bred gets a big class test today.
th pick: #3 (Financial Mogul) (10-1) - Longshot raced evenly in his seasonal debut at Gulfstream in the "Holy Bull" stakes (G2) on Jan 25 in what was his first start since Nov 3. Working sharply at Fair Hill for this and he can factor at a big price.
th pick: #2 (In Trouble) (6-1) - Undefeated (2 for 2) colt broke his maiden in early August at Saratoga, then took the "Belmont Futurity" (G2) 7 weeks later. On the sidelines since, trainer Tony Dutrow has prepared him at Palm Meadows for his first off the long break and son of "Tiz Wonderful" is a threat if ready.
