Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (TAKEOFF) (5-2) - Colt has been on the sidelines since Dec. 1 when he missed by a 1/2 length in a one-mile turf contest at the Fair Grounds. Claimed that day by Armando De La Cerda for $25,000, he has him working steadily, dropping in class, and switching to the dirt. Capable on the surface change, barn wins at a 28% rate first off the claim and Irad Ortiz Jr is aboard.
2nd pick: #3 (Can'tweallgetalong) (8-1) - The 3yo enters off a very poor effort at this level and distance Oct. 8 at Belmont Park. Competitive in four straight prior to that, he worked fast here Nov. 4 and think he can rebound with a big effort.
3rd pick: #8 (Spa Jazz) (6-1) - He broke his maiden going a mile at Belmont Sept. 27 in a contest that was taken 'off the turf'. Last out on the grass there Oct. 26, gelding tire while wide for a $40K tag at this 2l condition. Down in class, back on the dirt, and shortening up in distance, think he can factor at a square price.
4th pick: #2 (The Chamo) (7-2) - Speedy colt finished a pace chasing third at this level going 6 furlongs Oct. 25 at Belmont Park. He has the rail, gets in 'light,' and he has positive local experience.
