Top pick: #4 (LUTHERAN MISS) (7-2) - Speedy filly has been competitive on the dirt and this contest was moved to the main track early this morning. She enters off a pair of back-to-back second place finishes at this level on the grass and appears to be the lone speed. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #16 (Roman Reign) (3-1) - Lightly-raced daughter of "Roman Ruler" will be stretching out in distance for this attempt. Filly rallied to miss by less than a length going 6-furlongs at Belmont on a sloppy surface Oct. 23, and did so from a difficult post (12th of 12). Win candidate today.
rd pick: #12 (Senso) (4-1) - Another that's lightly raced, she's also going turf to dirt and stretching out in distance. One-run type has improved since coming from California and joining the barn of Dave Jacobson. Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #8 (Confessa) (10-1) - No-speed type is dropping back down in class after facing state bred Special Weights in her last pair. Filly rallied to finish second at this level going 1 1/8th miles at Saratoga on July 30th and she's capable of impacting today with a repeat of that effort.
th pick: #5 (Race and Shine) (20-1) - Longshot is racing off another layoff (her third) and has been working above average at Monmouth for her first since late June. Filly by "Stonesider" could grab a small slice at a big price but believe that's the win is out of her reach.
