Top pick: #6 (IT'S EASY) (8-5) - The probable favorite, daughter of "Repent" set the pace and just failed to last (beaten a "neck") racing here at this level, going just a bit farther on Dec. 28th. In the Pletcher barn, she's worked since, and is the horse to beat.
nd pick: #7 (Touching My Toes) (4-1) - Well-backed in both starts, filly ran a distant second on the main-surface here going a mile at this level on Dec. 8th. Trainer Mark Hennig has given her six weeks of rest, has worked her three times, and home-bred is a win candidate.
rd pick: #3 (Maybry's Fortune) (12-1) - The probable early leader, she's stretching out in distance, and it's apprentice Esquivel off and vetteran speed rider C.C. Lopez on. Grey filly will take them as far as she can.
th pick: #4 (Peach Lake) (10-1) - Grey daughter of "Silver Wagon" ran evenly in a sprint in early December, and has a trio of solid a.m. drills for this attempt. Her connections will stretch her out around two-turns for the first time, and she's bred to like the added real estate.
th pick: #2 (Fire Ship) (5-1) - Lightly raced, she "stumbled" at the break here on Dec. 28th, and rallied to finish fourth of 10. Good barn (Rick Violette, Jr.) brings her back in three weeks and has her making back-to-back starts for the first time.
