Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (WATCH THE TIE) (3-1) - One of two entered by trainer Gary Gullo and they race uncoupled. Gelding tired very late to be beaten just under a length racing at this level Nov 5. It was his first start in almost two months and he should move forward off of it.
2nd pick: #2 (Buckwellspent) (5-2) - Recent maiden winner did so for a $25K tag facing fellow state breds Nov 18. He's now been competitive in six straight starts and I like the fact Jose Ortiz is back on the re-ride. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (No Entiendo) (5-1) - The second of the Gullo pair, he chased and finished evenly at this level and distance Nov 25. It was his first start since Feb 21 and he probably needed the effort. Dangerous today and at a square price.
4th pick: #8 (Daggerpoint) (7-2) - No speed type rallied to miss by a 1/2 length at this level Sep 24 at Belmont. Claimed that day by Bruce Levine, he sent him in for a 7-week freshening. He showed little in his Nov 12 return facing tougher and would love a fast/and or contested pace to rally into as he drops back down to the tag he was claimed for. .
