Premium Pick

Top pick: #7 (SPINNING FOR HOME) (5-1) - Grey gelding raced evenly facing "open" special weights at Churchill Downs when debuting in an "off the turf" contest Nov. 22. On the shelf since, home-bred is working nicely and has a new trainer (Michelle Nevin) for his return. She's won three over the past two days and this 3-year-old can take this at a square price.

2nd pick: #9 (Hobson's Choice) (4-1) - No-speed type ships from Gulfstream where he was never involved in a pair of starts against "open" special weights. Working fast for his first since Feb. 9, and an excellent grass trainer (Jimmy Toner) has him back in with New York-breds this afternoon. Win candidate.

3rd pick: #4 (Toohottoevenspeak) (3-1) - He makes his grass debut after a pair of third-place finishes at this level running on the dirt. He has some speed, runs second off a 70 day break, had a nice work at Belmont nine days ago.

4th pick: #11 (Wake Up and Go) (4-1) - Gelding is on the also-eligible list and needs one scratch in the main body to compete. Speedy 4-year-old missed by a "neck" racing for a $16K tag at Gulfstream March 19th and earned the highest last race "figure" of any entered. Win candidate if he gets to run.

5th pick: #1 (Mark Twain) (6-1) - Colt rallied to finish second here on a sloppy surface March 29th and was two lengths better than "Toohottospeak" that afternoon. Race was his first in two months, he's worked fast since, draws the rail, and is bred to handle the grass.
