He's working fast at Belmont for his return and owner/trainer Jena Antonucci is racing him beyond seven furlongs for the first time. I like his chances.
2nd pick: #6 (Southern Union) (12-1) - NEW gelding moves up in class and is racing on the grass for the first time. He's coming off a pair of even efforts on the dirt and is bred to enjoy the switch to the turf. Can factor at a big price.
3rd pick: #1 (Risky Sour) (30-1) - No-speed type moves back to the grass after racing poorly here on the inner-surface all winter. He's clearly better on the grass and make pick up a share at very long odds
4th pick: #9 (Sunny Kitten) (5-2) - The morning line favorite, he showed nothing when debuting facing much tougher Feb 6 at Gulfstream Park. Home bred by 'Kitten's Joy' is working well, takes a big drop in class, and is facing fellow New York Breds for the first time. An obvious contender, but at a short price.
