Top pick: #1 (STOCK FUND) (6-5) - The probable favorite, filly has been on the sidelines since finishing close-up in a $100K stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 9. She's gone (7-0-4-2) when facing maidens on the turf and finished second in her only previous race on this course.
nd pick: #11 (Aprettydixie) (7-2) - Beautifully-bred filly goes dirt-to-turf and stretches out in distance. Daughter of "Dixie Union" has been competitive in the past on the grass and is a threat if she draws in from the a.e. list.
rd pick: #12 (Bunhead) (9-2) - Another who needs to draw in off the a.e. list, she just failed last out at the Fair Grounds, facing $20K "open" maidens and she has dangerous early speed to employ.
th pick: #6 (Therapy) (12-1) - Longshot has had problems at the start in her last three appearances and will be trying the grass and a two-turn distance, both for the first time. Bred to handle the turf and a factor at a big price.
th pick: #2 (Love Scat) (20-1) - Another longshot, she has some speed and has been bet in three of her four outings. Most all of the sons and daughters of "Scat Daddy" love the grass and this filly should be involved from start to finish.
