Top pick: #1 (WEST HILLS GIANT) (3-1) - Colt tired in his seasonal debut in mid-June and has been competitive in four straight stakes since that time. Strong finisher draws the rail, continues to work sharply, and Irad Ortiz Jr is aboard for the first time. The inside was good here the past several days and that will allow this colt to save ground early before making a late charge.
nd pick: #8 (Chapman) (10-1) - He's the probable main speed and is positioned outside of the other pace types. Gelding tired last out after having to be sent hard from an inside post but had been very sharp in his previous pair. Win candidate at a square price.
rd pick: #4 (Loki's Vengeance) (6-1) - Lightly raced and speedy, he chased a quick pace and tired to finish a "neck" back of "Glickman" on Oct 29. It was his first race in five months and he probably need the effort. 3yo should be involved from start-to-finish.
th pick: #9 (Geaux Mets) (8-1) - Grey gelding has raced evenly in his last pair after coming back from a 7-week break in early October. A stakes winner at Finger Lakes prior to that, he has a flexible style and is in the barn of leading trainer Dave Jacobson.
th pick: #7 (Gridley Here) (9-2) - Much improved of late, he's won two in a row at Belmont going longer facing weaker. In career best shape and his best chance today is if the pace is fast/and or contested.
