Top pick: #1 (LONG RIVER) (5-2) - Lightly raced Darley home-bred has won two in a row, including the a $100K stakes on the main-track here when last in action on Dec 1st. Colt has won on this surface in the past, draws the rail, and is working fast.
2nd pick: #7 (Cease) (7-2) - One of two entered by trainer Dave Jacobson and the pair race uncoupled. Veteran comes off an impressive win on this surface on Dec 31st in his first race in two months. Speed/stalker has the highest last race "figure" and is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Don Dulce) (8-1) - The second of the Jacobson pair, he's extremely consistent and since last June has gone 7-2-4-0. He loves this distance 14-4-4-3 and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Saratoga Snacks) (3-1) - New York-bred has been freshened up since he raced evenly following a "stumbling" start in the "Cigar Mile" (G1) on Nov 30th. Much better spotted today and should factor.
