Top pick: #4 (ATONED) - This 14-furlong trip seems to fit him perfectly as he seems to relish longer distances. His last two wins have come at 1 1/8th miles last fall and at 1 1/2 miles this past May at Belmont. Runs second off almost a six-month break and he has three nice works since that return race at Keeneland on the grass.
2nd pick: #3 (Jane's Kid) - Mid-Atlantic based runner is "long-winded" enough and has never yet backed-up in any of his races. Believe he'll be much closer to the pace today than he normally is and has a shot at the top spot at a big price.
3rd pick: #1 (Malibu Moonshine) - He's been racing dull of late but at one time he was very good at these long distance affairs. It's entirely possible for him to "wake-up" today at this 14-furlong trip.
