Top pick: #7 (NEWBIE) - Daughter of "Bernardini" spent the winter at Palm Meadows and made one start at Gulfstream before shipping north. She rallied to finish 2nd here at this level on the inner-track March 4th and has since come back with a fine work. Runs 3rd off a 3 1/2 month break and this one turn mile should be just right.
2nd pick: #5 (Pop Pop Smyle) - One of two fillies entered by trainer Bruce Brown and the pair will race uncoupled. She was an impressive maiden winner her two back as a heavy favorite and then was a nose back of Newbie last out in her first facing winners. Speed/stalker should be involved from start to finish.
3rd pick: #4 (Miss Libby) - The 2nd of the Brown fillies also exits the same contest as the top pair and she tired after rushing-up into the pace following a troubled start. She'd been improving up to that point and should be competitive again this afternoon.
