He bobbled at the start and had a tough outside post. He draws a much better starting slot and meets a weaker looking group. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1a (Pop the Hood) (5-2) - Lightly-raced and well bred, gelding has been on the sidelines since a very impressive maiden win going a mile on the main track here Nov 7. Home bred by 'Street Cry' is a major threat if the figure earned that day is repeatable.
3rd pick: #5 (Zabaione) (9-2) - He enters off a solid third place finish here Dec 30. Five-year-old was only a 'head' behind 'Repent Twice' that afternoon and it was his 3rd straight strong effort.
4th pick: #6 (Papa Shot) (3-1) - NEW gelding has been on the sidelines since late May. Very lightly-raced 4-year-old has won one of three and he still is basically untested. Tough call.
