Top pick: #2 (VOODOO TALES) (3-1) - Speedy filly chased and tired here in a $100K stakes, going 7 furlongs on Oct. 13. It was her first start since July 10th and it's nice to see her come back quickly for this attempt. Trainer Nick Esler drops her in class and shortens her up a furlong. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Making Havoc) (6-1) - Price play ships back from Philly Park where she raced evenly while finishing third when facing weaker on Oct. 14. She fits with her best and her flexible style is a plus.
3rd pick: #6 (Alwaysthinkinofyou) (5-2) - Lightly-raced and speedy, she's gone 4-2-1-1 to date and last out at Laurel she missed by a "neck" on a sloppy surface after setting a contentious pace. She's capable of running a sub :45 half-mile and that type of speed must always be respected.
4th pick: #5 (Laguna Girl) (6-1) - Daughter of "Henny Hughes" has early speed but has not been as sharp this year as in the past. Capable with her best, but she hasn't raced since early August and gives away a recency edge to the top three selections. Needs to be at her best.
