Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (HEAVY MEDDLE) (5-2) - He's missed by a 'head' in two straight at this level, one each going six furlongs and a mile. Improving sort should be tough against a field with many making their debuts.
2nd pick: #3 (Frozen Angel) (3-1) - Nice debut Sept. 28th saw him rally to finish a close up 3rd going six furlongs at Belmont. Trainer Joe Sharp adds blinkers and stretches him out a furlong.
3rd pick: #10 (Giant Rocks) (15-1) - The field's most experience runner, he's moving back to the dirt after tiring while wide at this level and distance on the Belmont grass Oct. 30th. It was his first back off a two-month break, and he had finished 2nd in two of three on the dirt prior to the layoff.
4th pick: #12 (Blame the Thief) (10-1) - Well backed when debuting Aug. 18th at Saratoga, he showed good early speed before tiring. He has a nice outside post at this distance and may impact at a big price.
5th pick: #7 (Appealing Briefs) (12-1) - He's raced evenly in both starts, and last out checked in a non-threatening 3rd at this level and distance at Belmont. I like his last work, and he should be closing in the final furlong.
