It was his first facing winners following an impressive maiden win at Saratoga going 9 furlongs Aug. 16. Three-year-old son of 'Bernardini' has room for upside and draws a nice outside post at this one turn mile.
2nd pick: #6 (Hammerin Aamer) (4-1) - Speedy sort set the pace in the same last race as 'Spieth' and held to finish second 1.5 lengths in front of that foe. Very sharp in five straight starts and he's a win candidate this afternoon.
3rd pick: #3 (Patternrecognition) (3-1) - Colt broke his maiden when debuting here going 6 furlongs April 5. Sent in for a two month break at hat time, he's finished second in all four follow up starts. Stalker is in the Chad Brown barn, is working fast, and must be left in the mix.
