#4 JUMPING JACK LOUIE (8/1) I like this colt’s chances of rebounding today off a big morning line of 8-1. He showed improvement with each start after moving to the Robert Barbara barn, capped off by a dominant win January 16. He could have won by even more than the 3-length margin that day, but he was blocked in upper stretch, then had to go through a tight hole between rivals before finding clear racing room. He seems to have ‘bounced’ off that career-best effort when a dull 6th February 18, but that was also his first try against winners and he fell farther off the pace than usual. I expect a better stalking trip today.
