Top pick: #5 (JILLY MAC) (3-1) - For whatever reason, this daughter of 'Mineshaft' has improved noticeably since mid-October. Stretch runner is shortening up in distance after missing by a 'nose' here going a mile at this level April 3rd. A career best overall and she gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (Midnight Champagne) (7-2) - Speedy sort is racing off an eight week break and a private trainer change to Michell Nevin (29% with new arrivals). Grey 3-year-old has been competitive in four straight starts, is working well, and should be involved every step.
3rd pick: #10 (Southern Sunshine) (8-1) - It took this $340,000 daughter of 'High Cotton' 14-starts to get her maiden win. She accomplished that March 26th in her second off a Rich Schosberg claim and a subsequent 2 1/2 month layoff. Stalker draws a nice outside post at this distance and can factor at a big price.
4th pick: #4 (Jersey's Kittens) (4-1) - Very lightly-raced, filly makes her first start in New York after going 3-1-0-2 out of town. Still improving 3-year-old is working fast at Fair Hill and Penn National regular David Cora is in for the mount.
